Clinical Interests

Dr. Marino is the director of the Transplant Immunology and Immunogenetics laboratory at the University of Chicago. This laboratory uses the latest technologies for testing and advanced electronic data management systems. The main role of this laboratory is to support and further the success of the multiple transplant programs being offered at the University Hospitals. Additionally, the laboratory and its experienced staff provide teaching to residents and fellows.

Research Interests

Dr. Marino’s research interests are to use the technologies at the forefront of medicine to better understand the mechanisms involved in the allograft immune response, to increase access to transplantation, and to early detect deleterious immune responses in this setting. The ultimate goals of Dr. Marino’s work are to improve allograft survival, increase patient quality of life, and further advance the field of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics through excellence in clinical testing.
