Research Interests
Study of the regulation of the platelet receptor for von Willebrand factor (glycoprotein
Ib/IX/V complex), with long-term goal the development of anti-thrombotic agents
based upon insights gained from study of the pathophysiology of platelet-type
von Willebrand disease and the Bernard-Soulier disease syndromes. Molecular characterization
of autoantibody development against the glycoprotein Ib/IX/V complex in ITP.
