CLINICAL FELLOWSHIPS

Blood Bank / Transfusion Medicine

This one-year ACGME-accredited Blood Bank fellowship offers extensive clinical and laboratory experience in a busy state-of-the-art center. The Blood Bank supports liver, renal and bone marrow transplantation, stem cell collection, high risk neonatal and obstetrical programs and cardiovascular surgery. Donor room/apheresis unit activities include donor recruitment, blood collection, therapeutic apheresis, autologous blood collection, therapeutic phlebotomy and pediatric peripheral stem cell collection. Ample opportunities for research and teaching are provided. Trainees who complete the program are eligible for Transfusion Medicine Boards after one year. Requirements: Position is open to physicians with current licensure trained in CP or AP/CP Pathology or other appropriate postgraduate medical training.

Requirements

A minimum of three years' training in anatomic pathology or four years' training that combines anatomic and clinical pathology. The candidate must be able to obtain an Illinois medical license.

Stipend

Commensurate with level of training.
